Only one threw for 8 TDs in a game, but there was more than one addition for season TD passes and career TD passes. The most yards for a game was 540 from last season, the state passing leader had 4,190 and the most for a newcomer added to the career list was 9,087. It’s hard to beat California quarterbacks in NFL history so doing updates on the most prolific high schoolers for the Cal-Hi Sports state records is always a lot of fun.
Current senior QB Elijah Brown of Santa Ana Mater Dei (right) will likely finish his career in December or late November with career totals much higher. He had the highest of new totals added to all-time state lists. Richie Munoz (left), who played from 2019 to 2022 at La Salle of Pasadena and Charter Oak of Covina, ended his career with 9,087 passing yards and 111 career TD passes.
